The Sydney Watch Centre
Oh the frustration of having a watch or a clock that’s not in working order. And it happens all the time! Of course sometimes it’s only a battery that needs to be replaced, although you can’t always do that yourself, but often the watch needs to be cleaned and checked at the same time, and it can be difficult and to find an affordable expert who can do that in this day and age.
To the Sydney Watch Centre, restoring a classic watch is a way of life. We love to restore the movement to luminous dials, and to clean and polish cases and original bracelets.
Come to us for repairs and second hand watches. We can adjust bands on the spot, and if you’ve been thinking of a new band or bracelet, we can source, fit and adjust it. Anania Family Jewellers has over 55 years of experience in watch repairs in Sydney.
Our Swiss trained watchmakers work on-site, so we can carry out repairs and service Swiss and high-end watches, as well as adjusting straps, replacing batteries, and even authenticating your timepiece.
Because your watch runs 24/7 for years on end, it needs regular check-ups for optimal performance. Much like a car engine, your watch needs oils and lubricants to keep the parts moving smoothly, and to avoid friction which wears down the parts faster.
Rust is one of the most common issues we come across. Even a small amount of moisture inside the confined space of your watch can cause a lot of issues. And some watches are water resistant and need to be pressure tested. We can pressure test on site to 100m.
Ideally, watch batteries should be changed every two years. Batteries start to break down after two to three years, and the battery acid may erode and corrode the watch movement.
The Sydney Watch Centre is known for watching the clock! We know all about how to treat them, how to look after them, and how to return them to you in perfect working order.
A straightforward service normally takes five working days. The watch parts need to be stripped and cleaned with several different solutions, then re-assembled and tested, and automatic watches require 40 hours of sitting to check the power reserve.
We buy and sell second hand watches.
Whether you’re thinking of buying a second-hand watch or have just bought one, it’s important to verify its authenticity. At the Sydney Watch Centre, we can examine your timepiece and write an authentication report, as well as looking out for any signs of damage or if the watch needs servicing. And we do high end watch repair on site.
Sydney Watch Centre also offers jewellery resizing and repairs – in fact we can satisfy all your watch and jewellery needs.
Master watchmakers, we work on all luxury watches, including Audemars Piguet, Breitling, Citizen, Girard Perregaux, Hublot, Jaeger LeCoultre, Maurice Lacroix, Omega, Patek Phillipe, Raymond Weil, Rolex, Seiko, Tag Heuer, and Tissot.
