Elegant ways to display your jewellery at home
Everyone’s got their favourite pieces of jewellery that they wear again and again. We also have classic pieces we only wear occasionally and some that went out of fashion a long time ago. And usually we store our jewellery in jewellery boxes, in the original cases, on our dressing tables, or even tangled up in drawers until we need it.
However, if you feel like being more creative, here are some great ideas for displaying your jewellery, keeping it organised and reducing the risk of it getting knotted, giving your home a sense of elegant style at the same time.
Using a table lamp
It might not seem the most obvious idea, but an ornamental table lamp can be a good place to hang bracelets and necklaces. You do need to make sure that it is ornamental as delicate gemstones and metals can be damaged by direct light or heat.
Decorative hangers/display boards
Look for decorative display boards to hang your jewellery on and brighten the whole room. This is ideal next to a mirror in the bedroom so you can just grab a few favourite pieces when you’re getting ready. Displaying necklaces on a hanger can prevent longer pieces from becoming entangled.
Display cabinets work well if you have plenty of space and lots of gems you want to see at a glance. If you don’t want to invest in display cabinets, clear storage cases are an alternative.
You’ll see them in stores and at fairs, but a jewellery mannequin isn’t just for professionals. Buy a hand display, a head display or a head/torso for your favourite rings, necklaces, bracelets, etc. You can even dress your mannequins up with basic accessories for added elegance and to ensure they fit in with your overall style.
Look for decorative accessories
Pretty cups, bowls and saucers are great for smaller items like rings or earrings. They look pretty around the bedroom and you can choose a theme that complements the whole room.
There are lots of creative ways to display your jewellery, which can also add to your home’s individual style. Storing jewellery properly prevents it from becoming tangled or damaged.
